Okay so I have finally milked my goat, and am ready to blog some more. Where were we? While I was waiting to milk Twix, I got to hold Thor some more. I have also got to help make laundrey detergent(soap). Saturday is family day and hopefully if we come, when my mom and dad see Thor they will decide to buy him for me and we can keep him witha close friend who lives about 5 minuets away. If my parents say yes I will be so happy!!!!!!!!!! If not my friend said she might get him, and if she does I will be able to come over to her house every so often. Today I also got to scoop poop. it was kinda fun. They had another goat today, She was due friday. I don't want to stop but I I can not think of anything else to say. I will blog for one last time tomorrow. BYE BYE!!!!!!!!!!

almost last day :(

Today is Thursday and almost the last day. Sorry I did not get to write yesterday. I was really hoping to,but I really wanted to play with Thor seeing to it that my time with him is almost done. If you do not know who Thor is, he is the little black and brown goat that was in my arms while I was swinging, in the other picture the light brown goat is his sibling. Thor is for sale and I want him really bad, but I live in the city limits and I am not aloud to have farm animals. If I could have farm animals I would be begging to have him. He is the sweetest little goat, except for when he runs from me but once I get him in my arms he could just lay there all day. I got to ride in the back pasture today, I had the chance to run, but seeing to it that I have never ridden up or down a hill before I was to scared. I still had alot of fun. It was like a miniature trail ride. i promise I will write later.

great day!!!!!!!!!!

As you saw above, a baby goat was born last night. It is the cutest thing. I wish I had a baby goat just like it. Right now it is sleeping in it's basket with towels in it. In just a few minutes I will be milking a goat. At the end of the week I will be showing my goat in a goat show. My goat behaves very well and is perfect for the goat show. Seeing to it that I am a beginner and that Twix is very good for shows, I am totally ready except for my goat parts and walking. In a goat show you have to walk gracefully, the most graceful way to walk is to walk slowly. you should know the stamps in their ears and their birth date. Twixe's right ear is tattoo STUM and left ear says Y1. In the goat world every year has a letter, That is why mine has a Y, because she was born in the year of Y. After they go through all of the letter's of the alphabet they just start over. The reason mine has a 1 is because it was the first one born that year. I got to feed Violet today, I fed her a smart water bottle. I rode horses again and had alot of fun. I know all I wrote about was goats and a tiny bit about horses. But I gotta go, I'll try to post some more later. BYE BYE.

New Addition

(Written by SonRidge Farm)
Farm Campers...
Tumnus (the Angora Goat that we sheared during Farm Camp this afternoon) kidded at 6.30pm tonight, and had 1 lovely doe (female/girl). *Pictures below are of her*

Though we are sad you weren't able to be here for the kidding, we would love some help with... NAMING.

As most of you know, I do a theme each year for our dairy goat kids (2011 is the "fruit year"). But with our Angora Goats, I'll stick to just "random" names. Any ideas? Make sure to let me know! (She is soft - cute - & cuddly - maybe a name pertaining to that?)

See you tomorrow, who knows - maybe one of the names you came up with... will be chosen!

P.S. Don't forget to practice the "Dairy Goat Parts" Game - it was posted on your blog last night.

I am so excited I am getting to do this camp, I would recommend it to anyone unless your afraid of the outdoors.my baby goat is the cutest goat in the world, everyone thinks she is the sweetest. She is perfect goat for me because she is so spoiled and I like spoiling things alot.it's3:03 and I am getting ready to go. Stevan is reading a story, it's kinda weird. I watched blacksmith early this morning, an thought about doing it as my major.Tomorrow we are making salve. I can't wait.

SonRidge Farm

I will be attending a 4-H Farm Camp in May.
While there I will learn things from tacking up and riding a horse...

to learning about shearing and even processing Angora Goat Fiber.

I will also be assigned a dairy goat; which I will be responsible for milking, feeding, everyday care & even learn how to show her.

I will learn how to make blacksmith items in a forge

and even make cheese, butter, and ice cream. I'll learn about bees and get to make my own beeswax lip balm.

I'm going to have so much fun that I can't wait for the week to start. I will even be keeping my own blog of the week and updating it each day. Please follow my blog so you can see all the things I'm doing and learning. We can even come to family day on the farm...for free! I know that I'll want to introduce all my family to each of the animals on the farm.
